STARTING POINT
From Marysville, travel east along Woods Point Road for 500 metres.
Turn left onto Lady Talbot Drive.
Continue for 9km along Lady Talbot Drive.
Watch for the Keppel Falls Walk entrance on the left side of the road.
Pull into the small car park beside the trail entrance.
Do not continue to the separate Keppel Falls Lookout, which is 350 metres farther along Lady Talbot Drive.
Expect Lady Talbot Drive to change from partly sealed road to mostly unsealed, corrugated road with potholes.
DIRECTIONS
Leave the car park on the Keppel Falls walking track.
Follow the track upstream with the Taggerty River beside and below the path.
Cross the footbridge.
Continue through cool-temperate forest and mountain ash woodland.
Follow the track around the boulders.
Continue across the undulating sections of track.
Negotiate the short, steep sections as the route progresses upstream.
Use the wooden stairs near the falls.
Continue to the wooden viewing platform extending over the river.
View the cascades in both directions from the platform.
Return Route
Return the same way back to the carpark
Keppel Falls Lookout Detour
After completing the walk, drive 350 metres farther along Lady Talbot Drive.
Stop at the separate roadside Keppel Falls Lookout.
Walk onto the viewing platform.
Look across the Taggerty River Valley toward the falls.
Use this lookout for a more distant view showing the extended line of the cascades.
TRAIL NOTES
Track conditions: Formed out-and-back track with undulating ground, short steep sections, wooden stairs and occasional fallen logs.
Navigation: The track is considered easy to follow and ends at the main viewing platform.
Terrain: Forested river valley with boulders, logs, mountain ash and cool-temperate vegetation.
Hazards: Rain can leave parts of the track slippery and muddy.
Hazards: Leeches have been reported in wet conditions.
Hazards: Fallen trees and limbs remain a risk in the Lady Talbot Drive area, particularly during or after strong winds and heavy rain.
Access: Lady Talbot Drive may close seasonally because of poor weather or fallen trees.
Access: Wet weather can make the unsealed road boggy.
Bruno's Art and Sculpture Garden
After the Keppel Falls walk, visit Bruno’s Art and Sculpture Garden at 51 Falls Road, Marysville. Follow the garden paths through dense vegetation to view more than 120 fantasy-inspired sculptures placed throughout the grounds. The garden is listed as open daily from 10am to 5pm, while the indoor gallery opens on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.
